ABOUT US
Our Story
Where Compassion Meets Purpose
Just Mind Psychiatry LLC was born from a simple but powerful vision to make mental health care more accessible, more personal, and more compassionate. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I have spent years supporting individuals and families navigating emotional challenges, life transitions, and psychiatric conditions.
During this journey, I witnessed a recurring theme: many individuals in need of mental health services were unable to access care due to long wait times, limited local providers, or the stigma surrounding mental health. That’s when the vision for Just Mind Psychiatry came to life a place where people could feel safe, seen, and supported, whether in person or online.
Our practice began with telehealth services to meet clients wherever they are, and as we grow, we will be adding in-person visits to accommodate those who prefer face-to-face connection. Today, we proudly serve individuals across Virginia & Washington DC, offering flexible and professional care designed to fit into your life—not disrupt it.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is telepsychiatry?
Telepsychiatry is a convenient and effective way to receive psychiatric care from the comfort of your home. Using HIPAA-protected videoconferencing, your sessions will have a similar structure to in-person visits. Once we schedule your appointment, you’ll receive a link, and the live-stream interaction will begin at your designated time.
What should I expect during my first visit?
During your first visit, we will focus on building a therapeutic relationship, where we’ll discuss your current and past symptoms, medical history, and work together to develop a detailed treatment plan. This session serves as the foundation for your ongoing care and ensures we tailor the approach to your unique needs.
Can you prescribe medication?
Yes! As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, I am a master’s level prepared professional who provides psychiatric care, including diagnosing conditions, prescribing medications, and offering psychotherapy. My goal is to ensure that your treatment plan is comprehensive and tailored to your needs.
Do you offer therapy?
At this time, basic therapy utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and other tools will be integrated into your visits. If you are seeking in-depth psychotherapy, we can provide referrals and resources to help you find a therapist suited to your needs.
Do you take insurance?
Yes, we accept a variety of insurance plans, including those through Headway. We will always run an eligibility check before your first appointment to ensure coverage. Check the list of the insurances we take before your appointment.
Why is there a fee for missed appointments?
Appointments are scheduled with the understanding that the time slot is reserved exclusively for you. When appointments are not canceled at least 24 hours in advance, other clients are denied the opportunity to use that time. As a result, there is a $75 fee for missed appointments or those not canceled within the required 24-hour notice (e.g., for a Monday appointment, cancellation must be made by Sunday).
Do you accept Self-Pay patients?
Yes, we do! The rate for an initial evaluation is $300, and each follow-up appointment is $175. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover through Square, a secure and easy-to-use payment platform. Square ensures all transactions are encrypted for security and provides detailed reporting to help track payments. Please note, we do not accept checks or cash at this time.
Your Journey, Your Voice
We go beyond just treatment, we listen, collaborate, and tailor care to your unique needs. Whether through psychiatric evaluations, medication management, or therapy, we ensure that you are at the center of your healing journey.
