COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION & NATURALIZATION EVALUATIONS

Strengthening your case with expert immigration evaluations

At Just Mind Psychiatry, we provide comprehensive, clinically grounded immigration mental health evaluations designed to meet court and USCIS standards. Our licensed mental health professional conduct thorough assessments to support cases involving asylum, hardship waivers, T visas, and related immigration matters.

We recognize the psychological impact that immigration-related stressors can have on individuals and families. Our evaluative process prioritizes accuracy, cultural sensitivity, and evidence-based clinical documentation. We collaborate with clients and their legal representatives to produce detailed, objective reports that clearly communicate mental health findings relevant to the immigration case.

Our goal is to offer evaluations that meaningfully support the legal process while upholding the highest standards of clinical integrity and professional care.

U-Visa Evaluation

A U-Visa provides immigration relief to individuals who have been victims of qualifying criminal activities, such as domestic violence, sexual assault, or physical assault. This visa was created to encourage undocumented individuals to cooperate with law enforcement and government agencies during the investigation or prosecution of these crimes. In return, eligible victims receive protections and support, particularly when they have experienced significant psychological, emotional, or physical harm.
At Just Mind Psychiatry, our U-Visa mental health evaluations involve a comprehensive clinical assessment conducted by a licensed mental health professional. During the evaluation, the clinician will meet with you to assess the emotional, psychological, physical, and when relevant financial impact of the crime. The resulting report is prepared with clinical accuracy and sensitivity to support your immigration case.

T-Visa Evaluation

The T-Visa is a form of temporary immigration protection available to individuals who have been victims of human trafficking and who have cooperated with law enforcement in the investigation or prosecution of the trafficking activity. This status allows eligible individuals to remain in the United States for up to four years, with the possibility of including certain family members based on case-specific circumstances.
Our T-Visa mental health evaluations involve a comprehensive clinical assessment conducted by a licensed clinician. During the evaluation, the provider will assess the psychological, emotional, physical, and when relevant, financial impact of the trafficking experience. The resulting report is prepared with clinical rigor and sensitivity to support your immigration case and document the trauma-related effects of trafficking.

Asylum Evaluation

Individuals seeking asylum in the United States must generally file their application within one year of arrival, with the support of an immigration attorney. Asylum provides protection for individuals and, in some cases, their spouse and children who have experienced persecution or have a well-founded fear of future persecution in their country of origin. According to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, persecution may be based on factors such as race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion. When granted, asylum allows the individual to remain legally in the United States.
Our asylum evaluations involve a comprehensive clinical assessment conducted by a licensed mental health professional. During this evaluation, the clinician examines the psychological, emotional, and physical effects resulting from past persecution or trauma. The final report is prepared with clinical accuracy, cultural sensitivity, and an understanding of the impact of trauma to support your asylum application.

Extreme Hardship Evaluation

An Extreme Hardship evaluation is often required when a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident is submitting a waiver on behalf of a non-citizen family member who is at risk of being required to leave the United States. This waiver aims to demonstrate that the qualifying relative would experience significant hardship should the immigrant family member be denied the ability to remain in the country. Hardship may be assessed across multiple domains, including emotional, psychological, medical, financial, and educational impact.
Our Extreme Hardship evaluations involve a comprehensive clinical assessment conducted by a licensed mental health professional. During the evaluation, the clinician assesses the U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident to determine the extent of potential hardship across emotional, psychological, physical, financial, and related areas. The resulting report is prepared with clinical rigor and sensitivity to support the immigration waiver application.

Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Evaluation

The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) allows eligible non-citizens who have experienced abuse by a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident spouse, parent, or adult child to petition for immigration relief independently, without the abuser’s knowledge or involvement. Applicants are required to provide credible evidence such as documentation or reports that supports their history of domestic violence or abuse. VAWA protections apply to individuals of all genders.
Our VAWA evaluations involve a comprehensive clinical assessment conducted by a licensed mental health professional. During the evaluation, the clinician examines the psychological, emotional, physical, and—when relevant—financial effects of the abuse. The resulting report is prepared with clinical accuracy, trauma-informed care, and sensitivity to support your VAWA petition.
